Contact Forms

When you submit a message using the contact form, I collect your name, email address, and any information you include in your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is never shared, sold, or used for marketing without your permission.


Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. Their privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval, your profile picture may be visible next to your comment.


Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to extract that information.


Cookies

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last one year.
  • A temporary cookie is used to test if your browser accepts cookies when you visit the login page.
  • Login and screen preference cookies are used when you log in, lasting from 2 days to 2 weeks depending on your choices.
  • If you edit or publish an article, a cookie with the post ID is stored, expiring after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images). These websites may collect data, use cookies, and monitor your interaction, just like if you visited them directly.


Analytics

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.


How Long Your Data Is Retained

  • Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely.
  • If you register (if applicable), your personal data is stored in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your information anytime (except username). Admins can also see and edit this information.

Your Data Rights

If you have an account or left comments, you can request:

  • A copy of the personal data I hold
  • That I erase your personal data (excluding what must be kept for legal or security purposes)
